What time is it? It’s time for EDC, bb!! Sure, the festival’s still a few months away. But in our opinion, it’s never too early to get hyped up for Electric Daisy Carnival. This year, EDC is taking the Speedway by storm May 19th through May 21st. And rave goers are gonna be partyin’ it up to the biggest EDM legends of all time!

But before EDC arrives, all you rave queens have to figure out what exactly you’re gonna wear. If you’ve never been to EDC, you might not even know where to start. Fear not, rave queen—we’ve got the deets about EDC’s hottest hair, makeup and rave outfit trends. Plus, we’ll throw in some tips from seasoned ravers about how to thrive during your first EDC festival.

Electric Festival Outfit Ideas

Let’s kick things off with some killer EDC outfits. First, remember this: your outfits HAVE to be comfortable. Las Vegas is warm at night, but it gets suuuuper hot during the day. We highly recommend clothing that’s breathable and very lightweight. Go for teensy tops and itty-bitty bottoms. The less you wear, the better!

Don’t worry, it’s totally possible to look stylish AND stay cool in the Vegas heat. EDC is all about wearing reflective clothes with trippy, psychedelic designs. We personally LOVE a strappy rave bra with cheeky bikini bottoms. Or, spread peace and love with a 70s outfit that features a tie front top and flounce sleeves. Pair with a bodycon skirt to show off those curves!

Feelin’ saucy? Spice up your EDC outfits with some festival pasties. Wear ‘em with a kimono, under a mesh top or completely on their own. You’re gonna be outside all day (and night), and the last thing you want is an underwire bra digging into your ribs! Go braless with rave pasties and let your body breathe.

Rave Hairstyles and Accessories

Got some outfit ideas? Great—now let’s talk hair! EDC is your chance to wear hairstyles you’ve never tried before. Get funky with two pigtails or space buns on top of your head! Secure ‘em with fuzzy scrunchies, and you’ll really give off EDC vibes. You could also turn this into a half-up half-down ‘do by letting your lower locks fly free.

Of course, you don’t have to go completely over the top. If you want something simple, keep your hair down and add some loose curls to it. Sound too blah? Don’t be fooled—this ‘do is anything but basic! Make it totally rave-worthy by clipping in some neon hair extensions. Bonus points if they glow in the dark!

You know what else looks good with hair extensions? Braids—and lots of them! Divide your hair into four sections, then braid the extensions into your natural hair. This look is great for keeping cool under the sun. Plus, the braids help mask the dirt, oil and sweat that’ll build up throughout the day.

Face Glitter and Festival Makeup

Time for the finishing touches! Complete your look with some wild and fierce festival makeup. At Electric Daisy Carnival, rave babes are gonna be rockin’ neon hues all over their gorgeous faces. Decorate your lids with highly pigmented eyeshadows that rival the electric sky. Live out your mermaid fantasy with deep purples and blues, or paint a fiery sunrise with reds, pinks and oranges.

Color isn’t just for the eyes. You can add neon hues to other features, too! Place some loose pigment where you’d normally contour your face. Blend the neon pigment along your temples, cheekbones or hairline. This’ll help add some dimension to the rest of your makeup.

And of course, who could forget the glitter?? Top off your rave makeup with a dash of cosmetic glitter. Brush it along your temples, cheeks or eyelids, then seal it with a spritz of setting spray. For the very last step, stick on some self-adhesive face crystals. Position them around the eyes to frame your alluring gaze!

Tips for First-Timers at EDC

Never been to EDC? Better buckle up cuz you’re in for a wild ride! Checking out a new festival is super exciting, but it’s also a little nerve wracking. You don’t know what to expect, what to bring or what mistakes to avoid. Lucky for you, we’ve gathered all the advice that seasoned ravers wish they had the first time they went to EDC.

Here are ravers’ top tips for having the best EDC experience ever:

Drink tons of water: You’re gonna sweat your booty off with all that dancing in the Vegas heat. Bring a hydration pack, and refill it throughout the day. Hydration packs let you dance hands-free, and you won’t have to worry about losing a water bottle. Bring sealed electrolyte packets for extra hydration!
Bring a portable charger: Portable chargers are a rave essential. By the end of the night, your phone’s gonna be down to one percent. You can’t call a Lyft or find your friends if your phone is dead! There are lots of portable chargers that are built into super cute keychains. Make sure it’s fully charged before heading to the festival!
Wear comfy shoes: We’re not kidding when we say this festival is HUGE. You’re gonna cover a lot of ground in three days, and your shoes have to be up to the task. That means those sexy pumps aren’t gonna cut it! Wear shoes that’ll support your feet, like combat boots, sneakers or platform shoes. Break ‘em in before the festival, too, otherwise you’ll be hobbling everywhere with blisters on your feet!

What is Electric Daisy Carnival?

Electric Daisy Carnival is an EDM rave that takes place every May at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway. It’s a jam-packed weekend full of DJs, partying and good vibes. Plus, there are tons of carnival rides, pop-up shops and VIP activities to explore!

When is EDC 2023?

This year, EDC is taking over the Speedway from Friday, May 19th through Sunday, May 21st. Sets begin at dusk and go all the way till dawn!

What should I bring to EDC?

Pack all the rave essentials—wallet, sunscreen, hydration pack, portable charger and, of course, your ticket. We can’t stress this enough: don’t forget your ticket!! You can throw in some extras like electrolyte packets and kandi to trade with fellow ravers. There’s one thing you should always have with you, and that’s P.L.U.R. (peace, love, unity and respect).

What is the dress code for EDC?
